National Geographic - Hitlers Stealth Fighter HDTV XviD

It would change the course of the war. Well, that's what the Nazis hoped of their stealth plane Ho 2-29, built in 1944 in response to the Luftwaffe annihilation in the Battle of Britain. As the Third Reich was crumbling, it was a little late for such gestures - but

65 years on. Hitler's 'miracle weapon' has been rebuilt to see if, indeed, it could have swung the war in Germany's favour.
Northrop Grumman Corporation, a military-technology company, has used original blueprints to recreate the plane and taken notes from the only surviving Ho 2-29. which has been kept in US facilities for
50 years. The plane, which is featured in the National Geographic Channel's upcoming documentary Hitler's Stealth Fighter, could fly at 600mph and carry four cannons and two 500kg bombs, making it deadly, too.
Engineers believe its smooth design would have cheated radars by preventing waves

from bouncing back. It was also trimmed with carbon to reduce radar detection by 20 per cent compared to other Forties aircraft.
The 2-29 was the brainchild of the Morten brothers, design consultants to the Luftwaffe. Reimar was a glider designer, and Walter was in the military and intent on revenge following

the loss of his colleagues in 1940. And seeing as its speed and stealth capabilities would have cut detection-to-target time from 19 minutes to eight. it seems he was worryingly close to getting his way.
