All Souls Arise (2007)
With this post I hope to commence sharing some of my pagan folk music. I have a pretty broad definition of "pagan folk" in mind -- basically any acoustic, traditionally-oriented music either with overtly pagan religious themes or with an atmosphere recalling animistic or pre-Christian spirituality. Most of what I have is European.
So here's the first one: the "All Souls Arise" compilation from Woven Wheat Whispers:
The Woven Wheat Whispers site (now sadly defunct) provided paid downloads for a multitude of mostly British dark and wyrd folk musicians, many of them pagans. Their famous compilation "John Barleycorn Reborn" gave rise to this successor, a seasonal compilation to guide us "from the last sheaf of harvest to the first snows of winter."
