From the jazz scene in Paris comes four talented young musician whose interpretation from Django Reinhardt to Wes Montgomery has earned them plenty of praise around gypsy jazz circle. “…They are part of this new generation that ally virtuosity and tradition, classicism and modernity. Not even 30, grooving like crazy, I bet you that they’ll soon rock the house….”
“ Rumors have started a while ago about an amazing young guitarist.
Three years or so that we’ve been talking about a “new generation”. Young artists evolving in Django’s idiom with their sound, their language, conscious of an immortal heritage, yet their eyes looking towards the future.
It was a cold evening that Monday. Trophies were awarded at Châtelet Jazz Académie and after the canapés, a lot remained to be discovered in Paris should one dare venture into the unknown of the “jazzy scene by night”.
So I wandered into “La Taverne de Cluny”, drowned by my friend Patrick Saussois. In this Parisian pub well-known for its beer selection it was packed. I got the definite feeling to be light years late and the last one in the know. At the bar, Noé Reinhardt, Rocky Gresset and distinguished others attracted by great music.
On stage a quartet. Four young artists living the same passion, the same love for jazz, with Mathieu Chatelain on guitar and Jeremie Arranger on double bass, a genuine and perfect rhythm section; on the lead side, Cédric Ricard on saxophone and a young rising star guitarist Adrien Moignard.
Together known as the acoustic quartet, they take you from Django to Wes Montgomery, effortlessly. They are part of this new generation that ally virtuosity and tradition, classicism and modernity. Not even 30, grooving like crazy, I bet you that they’ll soon rock the house.
This recording is the true manifestation of their exceptional talent; enjoy! --- Sébastien Vidal ”
