Coleman Hawkins was the true originator of the tenor saxophone as a solo instrument in jazz. His accompanists on this DVD are all major jazz figures in their own right, like Harry Edison, Benny Carter, Teddy Wilson, Oscar Peterson and Roy Eldridge. Some of the footage appears here on DVD for the first time ever. Other concerts have never been previously issued in such good sound and image quality.
Accomplished saxophonist Coleman Hawkins demonstrates his nearly unparalleled abilities as a soloist with these live performances filmed in Europe.
