Live in Montreux 1978 DivX

Running time approx 50 mins

OUT OF THE MUSICALLY FERTILE JAZZ-ROCK ‘FUSION’ ERA OF THE 1970's EMERGED THE DIXIE DREGS.

Marrying bluegrass with rock sensibilities, baroque pageantry with celtic undertones, the Dregs soon became a band without peers.

One of the most revered jazz-rock fusion bands ever, Dixie Dregs are featured in their sole Montreux appearance from 1978 on this DVD. Featuring the lineup of Steve Morse on guitar, Andy West on bass, drummer Rod Morgenstein, violinist Allen Sloan and keyboardist Mark Parrish, this show includes tracks such as “Night Of The Living Dregs," “Kathreen," "Take It Off The Top,” If you are into the Dixie Dregs, this is the live performance to get. Good picture for the time period (1978) and even better sound. In fact, excellent fidelity. This DVD captures the energy and passion of a Dregs performance when they were in their prime. It's funny to see the audience reactions at this jazz festival. At first they are pretty subdued but by the end they are on their feet.
