Jesus Christ Superstar (1970)



Kompozitor Andrew Lloyd Webber i tekstopisac Tim Rice je britanski duo, koji je da tako kazem "stvorio" rock operu "Jesus Christ Superstar". Opera je 1970 godine objavljena kao studijski album, pre nego je dozivela ekranizaciju, a poznati vokal Deep Purple-a Ian Gillan je dobio zadatak da otepeva deonice namenjene Isusu iz Nazareta. U to vreme je ovakav poduhvat bio ne samo izazovan nego i nadasve hrabar, ali je definitivno promenio tokove rok muzike. Prvo izvodjenje opera je dozivela na Brodvrju 1971. a 1973. je konacno snimljen film.
